Richard is a MIRACLE WORKER... I’m a professional stuntman and haven’t been able to turn my neck properly for over 10 days and have been in huge pain, even unable to sleep at night. Richard quickly diagnosed the issue, got to work with some acupuncture followed by some deep tissue massage and careful adjustments to my neck and spine. Even though I’ll most certainly need a few follow up appointments, I feel like a new man today... I’ve been working in the fitness industry for over 20yrs in London and seen many therapists during that time, and can honestly say I regard him as the best in the business. I CANNOT RECOMMEND RICHARD LEWIS ENOUGH. 😃

This place is one of, if not the best place to go if you are trying to recover form an Injury. A lot of my family and athlete friends come to him for help as his in-depth knowledge and care for people is something you don’t find everywhere. Whenever anyone I know has any kind of injury or pain I send them his way. Always getting amazing feed back from them.

Efficient and excellent. I’m a student doctor and having spent some time with physiotherapist in the hospitals, I can honestly say Richards knowledge and skill surpassess everyone’s. I questioned him and learned from him! He helped me become an off piste skiier instead of an apres skiier. Definitely recommended!

I have no doubt that without the support I received from Richard I would not have been able to complete the London marathon in 2017 and 2019. On both occasions I picked up an injury (Back and then Achilies) around 3 months prior to the big day. I was very concerned about this but Richard from day one made it clear he would have me fit for the day. Not only was he great with dealing with my injuries he was also happy to give me good tips on nutrition and training. He also listens to the customer and acts upon what I felt was the issue and did not just dismiss me.The pain I was in at one point was unbearable but with regular sessions I was able to run the best marathon in the world, both times coming in under 3 and a half hours.

Rich’s skills are mutually complimentary... a martial arts practitioner and sportsman as well as a physio/osteopath he has an in depth understanding of how the body works in theory AND in practice

Richard has been working with me in two capacities: as a personal trainer and as a physiotherapist.
But, neither of those job descriptions seem to adequately describe the weight of experience he brings to those roles. Rich's skills are mutually complimentary. Because he is a martial arts practitioner and sportsman as well as a physio/osteopath he has an in depth understanding of how the body works in theory AND in practice. Whether I'm training with him or getting a treatment he has an uncanny knack of finding the best solutions.
When training with him he inspires you to achieve by example with his own skill and prowess while motivating you with consistent encouragement and specific feedback. I always come away from a session with Rich feeling that I've moved forward and inspired to do more.

My first encounter with Osteopathy was thrilling and enlightening. Thank you for your intelligent and frighteningly spot on fingers and professionally diagnostic head

Absolutely amazing! I left your practice feeling really light and realised that I had lost a lot of 'fear' and 'hyper-vigilance' in my back. I walked light and free and it felt truly amazing after months of hobbling and twinging. And weirdly I thought I was going to cry at one point when you said you were massaging my muscles to help them get rid of old blood to bring in the new I think there was a letting go of some emotions alongside - or tensions built up.  Who knows, but I felt it, and it felt good to say goodbye to it. A proper catharsis.

So thank you. My first encounter with Osteopathy was thrilling and enlightening. Thank you for your intelligent and frighteningly spot on fingers and professionally diagnostic head. It was a huge relief to know there's nothing majorly misshapen going on. And it was unexpectedly satisfying to hear that a life of fitness is written on my body. I felt oddly vindicated of something. Don't exactly know of what. But that was the feeling. So thank you.

Really looking to our next session now.

I’m convinced that had it not have been for Richard, my rehab would have taken far longer and would have been much harder to achieve.

'You know how it is when you get a bit of a pain somewhere in your shoulder, and no matter where you prod and press, or twist and stretch, you can't quite figure out where the pain is exactly? Well take yourself to Richard. Within seconds he'll have found exactly the right spot and will be applying just the right amount of pressure and action to have you sorted. He has this unerring knack of finding the cause of any problems or the source of pain, even when you didn't know you had any, and knows precisely what's needed.

I went to him recently following a serious knee injury that had left me in a brace for 8 weeks. Richard helped me through my rehabilitation, getting my knee flexing to the max and getting me mobile again, advising me on what I should (and shouldn't) be doing to get full flexibilty back and always willing to see me at short notice to change strapping and so on. I'm convinced that had it not have been for Richard, my rehab would have taken far longer and would have been much harder to achieve. I'm now fully able once again and enjoying the sport and fitness work to the full. Thank you Richard, very much.'

I am always impressed by Richard’s thoroughness and, in particular, the way each session sees him using different techniques to help relieve my symptoms, as well as at the beginning of each session his ability to diagnose very quickly what areas need specific work on that particular day

“I had been suffering from a variety of pain and tensions in my neck and, more significantly for my professional work as an organist, in my legs. Richard was quick to identify the muscle groups that needed attention and has applied a variety of massage techniques to relieve both stress and pain. I have been attending massage sessions every three weeks for the past eight months and have really benefitted from the treatments. I am always impressed by Richard’s thoroughness and, in particular, the way each session sees him using different techniques to help relieve my symptoms, as well as at the beginning of each session his ability to diagnose very quickly what areas need specific work on that particular day. He speaks with knowledge and authority on the various muscles he treats, and always explains what he doing, and how this will help relieve pain and tension. As a professional musician, I have really benefitted from my sessions and I am very confident in his ability as a massage therapist.”

Richard has been outstanding. He has a genuine gift in his hands

“Having experienced a back injury several years ago with associated sciatica and recurring lower back pain, I developed muscular atrophy in 2009 in my right calf. As a professional potter, I am reliant on strength in my limbs for my work. Richard embarked on a once-weekly training session with me to help build up my muscular strength in the damaged leg. Of all the various experts who have tried to help me with back-related problems – from professional physiotherapists to osteopaths and chiropractors – Richard has been outstanding. He has a genuine gift in his hands – I have also benefitted from his deep-tissue pressure-point massages. Richard inspires confidence with his quiet expertise and empathy. Consequently, I have recommended him to many friends who have equally praised his skills.”

...went back to the doctor. I let him read the NHS physio’s letter first then showed him what I could do. He agreed it was soooo much better

Update on my arm, went back to the doctor. I let him read the NHS physio's letter first then showed him what I could do. He agreed it was soooo much better. I said I had been seeing you privately and you had worked hard on it with needles and all sorts and this was the result. He was amazed that I could now fully straighten my arm and said what a fab job you had done. He even said with the damage I had done he was very surprised and was the best improvement he had ever seen! Gotta laugh really that I was originally discharged from the physio with 40 degrees bend in my arm. So thank you Richard without your help my arm defo wouldn't have been this great. Best Wishes,

Michele Barker

He has an ability to read your body like a book and tackle not where it hurts but the root cause of your pain

I am not sure where to begin to describe Richard and his magic ability to keep me fit to go back to the gym.

I have known Richard for quite sometime and I started taking sessions with him for 2 years now. The thing that sets Richard apart from all the other physical therapists I have had in the past is that Richard rarely needs you to say what is wrong. He has an ability to read your body like a book and tackle not where it hurts but the root cause of your pain. Quite a lot of other physical therapists I have seen in the past would unnecessarily use deep massaging where Richard had an ability to "talk" to the muscle and understand how much it needs rather than showing off how hard he can press.

I also love that Richard is never stuck in the past and continuously updates himself with current developments. This I would say is quite normal in London but what makes Richard special in this case is that he wouldn't just get carried with what today is the "trend" but rather would employ what is effective and would reap results.

I can't recommend Richard enough and to be honest he doesn't need it being how good he is.

Yousef AlAli.

Do you know what..!? It's so much better that I'd forgotten about it until I just got this email from you! Astounding. I have been in some sort of pain with that for ages. You remain, a genius, thank you so so much and see you soon.

Richard is no less than a miracle worker!

The thing about lifting a twelve stone man above your head eight shows a week for two years, is that eventually it will take it’s toll on your body.  Curious is an incredibly demanding piece of physical theatre and despite the high levels of fitness and agility attained by the cast there is a constant need for aches and niggles to be treated.  Richard is no less than a miracle worker!  Over the past 24 months I have had encountered troubles with my knees and wrists and shoulders and neck, and Richard has managed successfully to assess the problems quickly and rectify them in only one sports massage treatment - something that sets him apart from other physiotherapists/osteopaths who have treated me in the past.  It’s his understanding of the precise physical strains a particular lift or movement will have put upon the body and his accurate assessment of the subsequent injuries that I’m sure leads to such quick and long lasting treatments.  I refuse to be pummelled by any one else now.  Priceless!

The benefits of your skills were greatly noted by our players

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all your hard work in supplying soft tissue massage for the Manu Samoa Rugby team on our recent northern hemisphere tour in London, England 2010. The benefits of your skills were greatly noted by our players and I truly believe that the inclusion of daily soft tissue massage throughout this recent tour, aided in not only the success of our tour, but most certainly aided in an ideal recovery regime and a noticeable reduction in soft tissue injuries.  I wish you all the very best in your professional endeavours.
